Join us in our 15th year offering our 5* rated program!
Interested in becoming a yoga teacher?
Ever had that feeling during class that there’s a lot more to know about a certain pose, or alignment technique, or idea, but the teacher is only giving you a piece of it because of time constraints?
Are you curious about the process of becoming a teacher or just deepening your understanding of all the limbs of yoga?
Consider joining our Teacher Training program!
What will I learn?
This program offers a broad exploration of yoga, encouraging you to develop your own unique voice, style, and focus area.
Rather than following a fixed sequence or tradition, you'll engage with a wide range of practices and principles of the Eight-Limbed Path of Yoga.
We will explore:
Asana
Meditation
Philosophy
Pranayama
Alignment
Sequencing
Sanskrit
Yoga Anatomy, and more.
Each weekend session includes opportunities to practice teaching, helping you gain practical experience and grow as a confident instructor.
Each weekend offers a focus designed to bring you deeper into your practice and help you more clearly express the art of teaching.
All weekends will have each of the following components in addition to the weekend theme: Sanskrit, Anatomy, Philosophy, Asana, Meditation, Pranayama. Additional specific key elements will be introduced each weekend.
Session Focus
You might be concerned that it’s all asana. You might be concerned that it’s all sitting and listening. Don’t panic! Sessions alternate between up-tempo periods of asana practice and contemplative periods of group discussion, meditation, and pranayama.
Session Content
Anyone who has been practicing yoga regularly for at least one year is welcome to apply. Please also note that during the training we do require that you commit to taking at least 1 classes per week at Darling Yoga, either in-studio, virtually via Zoom or through our on-demand class library.

Lead Teacher
Emily Darling, E RYT-500, YACEP
Emily brings over 30 years experience in yoga. She began her studies in the rich tradition of Iynenar Yoga and Restorative Yoga in 1993. She has also studied Ashtanga, Sivananda and Vinyasa Yoga. Through a beautiful weaving of all, she has a created a style of her own. Emily’s graceful flowing classes blend skillful alignment with a deeper awareness that yoga is a practice of going within and connecting to ones’s heart, light and truth. Her nurturing and compassionate nature creates a class atmosphere that is non-competitive, yet challenging. Her orchestration of rest and movement creates inner peace and strength in the body. She is grateful to have trained with world-renown teachers; and is daily inspired by her fellow KC teachers, students and family. As a registered E-RYT 500 level Yoga Alliance teacher, Emily brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her Darling Yoga’s Teacher Training Program.
Assistant Teacher
Melanie Nicsinger, E RYT-200, YACEP, Certified Holistic Nutritionist
Melanie became a dedicated yoga student after her first class in 2010. She fell in love with the strength, courage, peace and joy she found by blending breath with movement. Her long-standing depression, insomnia and anxiety were all relieved by the internal stillness and spaciousness that her committed yoga practice created.
Melanie completed her yoga teacher program with Emily Darling and Christy Burnette and has earned her E RYT-200 through training and extensive teaching experience. Her natural curiosity leads her to continuously deepen her knowledge through study, courses and workshops.
Whole-body wellness is another passion of Melanie’s; she is also a Holistic Nutritionist. See: www.lifestylebenefitsllc.com
