Workshops and Events
Interested in diving deeper into your practice, training with master instructors, getting more involved with our community or learning more about yoga? There's always something going on at Darling Yoga.
Breathwork is a potent and effective tool to help cleanse the emotional and physical body of stuck emotions and stagnant energy. It helps release anger, sadness, grief, shame, guilt, depression, anxiety and feelings of unworthiness (to name just a few). Some people describe it as "emotional hygiene."
By inhaling and exhaling deeply, the mind is bypassed and the emotions and traumas stored in the body can be released. It is a somatic release. The body remembers what the mind has forgotten or buried.
The breath is a direct gateway to Spirit.
It connects you to your intuition, joy and helps soften the heart.
I will guide the session with music and prompts to help you navigate your inner landscape. We will laugh, cry, scream and dive into a healing release in a safe and supportive container. You will leave feeling lighter, softer, more open and connected to your intuition. All genders welcomed. No prior experience needed. Suitable for ages 12 and up.
WHAT TO BRING: a yoga mat*, water, eye pillow or scarf for eyes (optional), wear comfortable clothes (we will be lying on our backs on the floor), a small pillow to scream into (we also have blankets at the studio you can use)
*loaner mats also available to borrow at the studio
Denise Cooper was born and raised in Kansas City but has been living in the Sacred Valley, Peru since 2008 where she leads retreats and ceremonies with sacred plant medicine from the Amazon jungle. Breathwork is one of her favorite tools as she sees immediate and effective results after one session. Denise carries a deep love for the Earth and is deeply devoted to the evolution and healing of humanity.

Join Darling Yoga for a this special “Shine your Light” yoga class dedicated to survivors of sexual violence and the Take Back the Night Foundation. We are joining over 200 studios who are participating in this nation-wide event on October 5th to create a collective breath in support of this cause. Every 92 seconds another American is sexually assaulted. Take Back the Night’s mission as a 501(c)3 Foundation is to end sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual abuse and all other forms of sexual violence by creating safe communities and respectful relationships through awareness events and initiatives.
Trauma-informed teacher, Angela Minard will lead this special “Vin/Yin” class, which will start with a short meditation to center and create an intention for the class, followed by a Vinyasa flow style class with breath-initiated movements. Finally, we will finish with Yin Yoga poses to calm the nervous system and stretch the deep fascia and connective tissues in the body for a thorough and grounding effect. As this is a trauma-sensitive event, this class will be free from physical touch and a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
Cost: $16 - All class fees will go directly to support the Take Back the Night Foundation and will be tax deductible, as TBTNF is a 501(c)3 charity.
